What is a domain lock?

A domain lock if a feature on certain domain types that prevents the initiation of the transfer process to another registrar. We lock all domains as standard that support this so as to prevent any unauthorised transfers of your domains, as it is not unknown for people to fraudulently try and obtain control over a domain that they do not own. If a domain is transferred to a 3rd party, gaining control over this again can be very difficult and so it is better to protect the domain initially.

If you require this lock removing, we remove this lock once a transfer form has been correctly completed and we have carried out our validation and security checks to ensure that it is an authorised request for the domain to be moved so as to protect your domains.
