Account due to exceed its data transfer limit

Each of our hosting accounts includes a set amount of data transfer per month, depending on what hosting account you have. Each time your website is accessed, data is transferred from your hosting account over our network to the person viewing your site. This therefore means that the more visitors and so the busier your site is, the more data will be transferred from it.

Our hosting accounts will automatically e-mail you at pre-defined levels when you are nearing your allocation. You will start receive warning notices starting at 80% of your usage so that you can take any appropriate action you may need to do so before you actually reach your limit as accounts are suspended if they exceed their paid for allocation. When accounts are suspended, this will block any further website activity, however will still allow you to access other services such as e-mail so as to minimise disruption to yourself.

Should your site be using more data transfer that you have paid for, excess usage charges may apply. Hosting accounts can be upgraded at any point you wish via the client area of our website. Upgrades take effect immediately and so will then provide you with additional data transfer and so as long as an account that has exceeded its quota is upgraded to a new suitable level before the end of the month, there would not be any excess usage charges due.

If your account is using more data transfer than expected, you may wish to look at your site logs and statistics so that you can make changes where needed, for example optimising your images, etc
