Can I make payment via card over the telephone?

Verified by VISA Mastercard Securecode

Unfortunately, for reasons set by the banks we are unable to process credit/debit card transactions via the telephone under any circumstances. This is due to an online security system known as 3D Secure. 3D Secure is a culmination of Verified by Visa (VbV) or MasterCard Secure Code (MSC) and is the latest fraud prevention initiative launched by the card schemes as a more secure method for authenticating the cardholder at the time of the transaction. For further information about these schemes please click on the icons above.

The use of 3D Secure is now compulsory for most online card payments. This system can be likened to the online equivalent of 'chip and pin', where during the course of you making your payment you will be redirected to your banks website and asked to provide your password for the card that you are using, or alternatively to register for this service if you have not performed this before. This password is the online equivalent of your PIN number. Whilst a few banks still do not yet support this (and so the step will be skipped if so after entering your card details), we are obliged to try and obtain all payments using the 3D secure system.

For this reason, if we were to take your details and entering then into the client area for you to make payment for your invoice, we would likely have to ask you for your password, which we are not permitted to do as this would be the same as telling an assistant in a shop your card PIN number, which we are sure you obviously would not do due to the possible implications of this, however your online password needs to be kept just as safe.

Should you experience any issues with the 3D secure authentication process when making payment online, our staff will be happy to assist you where possble, however can only provide generic instructions as the actual 3D authentication page that you will see comes from your bank and so the process can be very slightly different depending on the bank that has issued your card.
